Overall IVF Timeline
From consultation to pregnancy test: approximately 6–8 weeks (The stimulation and treatment cycle itself usually lasts around 3–4 weeks.)
60–90 minutes
2–4 weeks
Additional blood tests and ultrasound scans may be required during this stage. These investigations help us understand how your body responds hormonally and allow us to fine-tune your treatment plan for the best possible outcome.
1–2 days (cycle day 1)
You’ll have an online teaching call with one of our fertility nurses, who will guide you through:
● Your medications
● Injection techniques
● Your treatment schedule
● Consent forms
Your medications are then delivered directly to your home by our partner pharmacy.
Around 10–14 days
You begin daily hormone injections to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. During this phase:
● Blood tests and ultrasound scans take place every 1–2 days
● Medication doses may be adjusted as needed
● Around Day 8–10, monitoring usually moves to one of our London partner clinics
Most patients continue their normal daily routines during this stage.
1 day
When your eggs are ready, you’ll take a carefully timed trigger injection to prepare them for collection. Egg collection is scheduled approximately 36 hours later.
Procedure 10–20 minutes | Same-day recovery
A short procedure performed under light sedation. Eggs are collected, and sperm is prepared in the laboratory. The embryology team will contact you later that day to confirm fertilisation results.
You can usually return home the same day.
2–6 days after egg collection
Embryos develop in the laboratory while being carefully monitored by our embryology team. You’ll receive updates on embryo growth and quality.
The timing of embryo transfer — Day 2, 3, 5, or 6 — is decided based on embryo development.
10–15 minutes
A simple, quick procedure that does not require sedation. Any remaining good-quality embryos may be frozen for future use (optional).
10 days
Hormone blood tests are usually performed around:
● Day 2
● Day 4
● Day 6–7
● Day 10
These tests help us monitor implantation and hormone levels carefully.
Day 10 after embryo transfer
Your pregnancy blood test is performed, and we will call you with your results.
If the test is positive, we guide you into early pregnancy monitoring and continue supporting you every step of the way.
If the result isn’t what you hoped for, please know you won’t face it alone. Our team will talk everything through with you, answer your questions, and help you plan next steps with care, clarity, and compassion. You can take the time you need — we’re here whenever you’re ready.

This test analyses embryo chromosomes to identify those with the highest potential for a successful pregnancy. Helps reduce miscarriage risk.
Advanced diagnostic support to investigate hormonal, structural, immune, and genetic factors contributing to repeated pregnancy loss.

Our fertility team brings together leading consultants, nurses, embryologists, and specialists in genetics, nutrition, and wellbeing — providing complete care at every stage of your journey.
At Plan Your Baby, we believe in transparent pricing. Our treatment costs are not fixed as each patient journey is unique and personalised to your specific needs.
The final cost depends on various factors including required investigations, medication protocols, and additional procedures that may be recommended based on your individual circumstances.
In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is an advanced fertility treatment that helps individuals and couples conceive when natural conception is not possible.
The process involves gently stimulating the ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs, collecting those eggs, and fertilising them with sperm in a specialised laboratory environment. Once the embryos develop, a healthy embryo is carefully transferred back into the uterus to support pregnancy.
IVF provides a highly controlled, medically guided pathway to conception, offering the highest success rates among modern fertility treatments.
A full IVF cycle usually takes 4 weeks, including stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilisation, and embryo transfer.
Yes, many achieve success the first time, especially when using a leading IVF treatment in England provider. However, age, health, and fertility factors also play a role.
Side effects may include bloating, mood swings, mild cramping, or headaches from hormone medications.
Women over 35 may experience lower success rates and may need additional support such as egg donation or genetic screening, guided by an experienced IVF specialist.
If the cycle doesn’t result in pregnancy, our fertility specialist will review your results and discuss further options, such as another cycle or alternative paths to parenthood.
Yes. IVF may still be an option for women in their 40s, depending on factors such as ovarian reserve, overall health, and medical history. A consultation is needed to assess individual suitability.
In some cases, pregnancy with donor eggs may be possible at 45. This depends on individual health factors and requires careful medical assessment and ongoing clinical support.
ICSI is a technique used within IVF where a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. It is often recommended when there are specific male fertility factors or fertilisation challenges.
Yes. IVF can be used to address male infertility factors, often alongside techniques such as ICSI or surgical sperm retrieval, depending on the underlying cause.

The biggest thank you to Plan Your Baby for completing our family. They made us feel safe, supported & confident when our trust in the process had been completely destroyed. They also made us feel extremely well cared for & humanised in an industry that can make you feel like a number. I needed a lot of personal support & Marija was always there to give it to me. Dr Sami threw everything at this attempt, knowing it was our last & I am just so grateful that he took no chances with our care. I really felt his human investment in our family, it wasn’t that he wanted the numbers for his clinic, he wanted this baby for us. Thank you again to the PYB team. We are beyond grateful.

Plan your baby provided us with support and reassurance at a very tricky time. Their early pregnancy monitoring was thorough and Marija was always quick to respond to any questions, worries or concerns. I had been looking for exactly what plan your baby offers, someone to guide you through the unknown of a new pregnancy after recurrent loss from the ease of your local area.

Since the first interaction with Dr Sami and Marija trying to conceive through to their early pregnancy support we wouldn't be staring at our beautiful 8 day old. Having previous miscarriage and struggles, when I finally saw those double lines I was left feeling anxious and terrified . Immediately, I got support throughout my first trimester and I truly do believe the plan in place meant she is here today. Couldn't be more grateful. Thank you Plan my Baby.

I came to Plan Your Baby after a missed miscarriage, knowing I wanted to do everything I could to support my next pregnancy. I initially had advice on fertility testing, which was thankfully not needed as we conceived quickly the second time round.
I had support from PYB in the first 3 months of my pregnancy — regular blood tests and scans and medication to help the pregnancy. Marija and Dr Sami were supportive, knowledgeable and kind throughout the whole period, providing me with much needed emotional support, especially with some early bleeding in the first few weeks.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PYB, especially for the flexible, remote support aspect.
My little boy is here now, so thank you from the two of us.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support I received from Plan Your Baby during the early stages of my pregnancy. Their team was always available—no matter the time—to guide me, recommend trusted labs and professionals, and help me navigate this delicate and uncertain period with peace of mind.
One of the things that made a huge difference for me was the convenience of their at-home services, including blood collection and progesterone injections. It took a great weight off my shoulders during a time when rest and reassurance were so important.
I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone going through the early phases of pregnancy, especially after an embryo transfer. Their care and responsiveness made me feel calmer, more secure, and truly supported.
A very special thank you to Dr. Sami and Marija—without your dedication and kindness, my journey would have been much more difficult.

We came to Plan Your Baby following a number of years of failed fertility treatments. From the start Marija and Dr Sami made us feel supported, heard and reassured. We felt immediately that PYB could be the people to help us have a baby. Throughout the IVF process they were always available to support us and we felt confident in their care.
Their unique approach to fertility treatment made IVF more accessible, less stressful and less of a burden when also trying to juggle work. Our son was born in May and we simply couldn’t be more grateful to them for getting us here.
